Class Overview
Working under the guidance of artist Deborah Landry, She has been working in clay for almost as long as she can remember. Each workshop will offer different projects. You will make plates, platters, tiles, ornaments, wind chimes and much more. The class is designed to go at your own pace and build knowledge with each class. WHAT YOU LEARN You will learn how to use a slab roller, to attach clay peices, create tons of marks and texture using plants, fabric and anything we can find in our world. You will learn about glazes and stamp making.
HOW THE WORKS These classes require mutiple class dates. The first class you will work in the wet clay and make your project. The clay will need to dry and be fired (1st firing). That can take 2-3 weeks. Then you will return to glaze your project and it will be fired again (2nd firing). Once it is fired for the second time it is ready to be picked up and fired.
No Skill Level Required
No clay skills are required. Each class will build on your previous experience.
Materials & Tools Provided
Materials, tools, and firing are all included in the price of the class. As well as Light snacks and drinks.
What to wear and bring
Clay washes out of clothes but you will be dusty and muddy so wear work clothes. Bring items that can leave an impression in clay if you wish.
