Class Overview
Printmaking with Nature. We offer a printmaking class using found objects and pressed flowers and leaves. This class gets you foraging for your print material. It is a great class to get connected with nature. Once you see the possibilities you will walk with a new appreciation for textures. Printmaking with found objects is a great way to journal all your experiences.
Relief Printmaking can be done with wood, Rubber or even recycled styrofoam. You can use anytype of sharp knife or carving tool to make a mark on the surface. Then the surface is inked up and printed. Leaving an impression of your design.
Mono Printing can be done on any flat surface, typically glass, plexiglass or Gelli Plate. The designs are put on the surface then printed. You can get one print from your painting. You can use almost any type of paint as long as it stays wet long enough to print it.
Make -You can make beautiful stationery, cards, wrapping paper, and other artwork by printing with leaves and other found objects from nature.
Skill Level Required
All age groups can do printmaking. Participants should be able to hold small tools to carve and draw. Depending on the process and materials the tools can be dull or sharp.
Materials & Tools Provided
Most materials are included in the workshop. If you are wanting to make cards you may need to purchase a card kit. We will use mostly water double inks and paints.
Best Scheduled
Printmaking can be done year around but if you are looking to use harvested plants consider different seasons have different plants.

Build a Flower press
Build a flower press. Building a flower press is a perfect project for the Women’s Carpentry Workshop. Make it a two day class, build it, make the incerts and they go foraging through the gardens.
